My Review:

**4-stars**

I can't say whether there's something wrong with me for loving Micaden's character or VF Mason for writing him to be so "lovehateable." Of course, I'll blame the author.

That said, I waffled a bit on 3 stars or 4 stars, but in the end went with four because this was a really good read. My biggest issue with it was the constant back and forth from past to present. However, the author made up for that in the complexity of the characters. Emerald deserves a survivor elite award because man, she suffered a lot. Micaden . . . yeah, you're just going to have to read him.

Overall, I would recommend to others and look forward to more from the author, just not the past, present, past, present, blah, blah, blah.

  About the Author:

V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen. Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it. When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
