BLURB:

He is as cold as ice.

She is the salvation that will melt his heart.

When Endora is faced with her daughter’s terminal illness, she takes the only chance she’s got. She braves the potential risks and signs a mating contract with the Delradon Draekon Lords, intent on using the payment to buy the aliens’ cure to save her daughter’s life.

Lord Aldric Darragon rules over his land with an iron fist until one day the only woman who is genetically compatible with him agrees to his offer of mating. As his all-consuming passion for Endora explodes, an ancient threat looms heavy over humans and Delradons alike. With the lives of everyone he cares about hanging in the balance, Aldric has to fight the demons of his past if he wants to defeat the enemies of the present.

Publisher’s Note: This gripping sci-fi alien romance has it all: dragons, passion and tension. It also contains explicit themes and is intended for adults only.

My Review:

**3-stars**

I liked the plot of the book. I was completely engrossed by the idea of alien beings coming to save us from ourselves, save the earth from our ruin (silly humans, lol) and I absolutely adore dragons so it was like a win-win.

I loved Aldric's character. I liked that he was mostly silent and broody, but his bond with Rhyl was gorgeous. I loved their fierceness, their loyalty, the danger they represented. I also liked that Rhyl was just as playful as he was deadly. I liked his possessiveness (don't judge me), I also liked that he was so adamant about protecting his family (although he took it too far). I loved that he had so much emotional depth, even though he didn't always show it.

I can't say that I actually liked Endora's character. While she had her reasons for the things she did, I felt like a lot of it wasn't warranted. I felt like once she made her sacrifice and Aldric basically told her he wouldn't let her go, she should've came clean. I didn't lie that she carried on with her lies when there was no real need to. I also didn't agree with her reasoning for leaving the castle. That just made absolutely no sense to me. With so much danger, the obvious dislike from certain people, and faced with the person who abandoned her when she needed it most, her choices were basically dumb.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, but Endora kind of ruined the total effect for me. I would still recommend it to others and I would definitely read more from the author.

NYT & USA Today bestselling author M. Malone lives in the Washington, DC metro area with her husband and their two sons. She holds a master’s degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized by how she’s using her expensive education. Independently published, she has sold more than 1/2 million ebooks in her two series, THE ALEXANDERS and BLUE-COLLAR BILLIONAIRES. Since starting her indie journey in 2011 with the runaway bestselling novella “Teasing Trent,” her work has appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times. She’s now a full-time writer and spends 99.8% of her time in her pajamas.

USA Today bestselling author Nana Malone‘s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense novel she “borrowed” from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick-butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters. While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.

Brielle

He consumed my mind.
I never even crossed his.
From the moment I met Michael, mysteriously brooding and dressed like a dark angel, there was something electric between us. Or so I thought. What I believed was a seductive and undeniably raw attraction has ended up being something else entirely, something I never foresaw. Because he’s a skilled liar and a master manipulator, and I downright misread his intentions. And now I’m afraid that falling for the man in black might become my biggest regret.

Michael

An overwhelming remorse haunts me after losing my fiancĂ©e, but I’m not a man who can afford to lower my guard. I’m a ruthless criminal, one of the top members of the merciless mafia, the Chicago Syndicate, and I moved back home to keep to myself and do a job. But when a curvaceous pastry chef with a beautiful smile and a possible link to my former life catches me in a reckless moment, I’m forced to watch her and strategize a plan. Because I’m not sure if she’s out to get me or if she’s just an innocent civilian who doesn’t know that the restaurant she works at is actually a front to launder Syndicate money. And I intend to find out if she’s playing me while I’m playing her. But then the demons that haunt me force me to make a huge mistake…

Deceit has a price—I just have to make sure I don’t pay with her life.

A standalone novel from the Chicago Syndicate world.

My Review:

**4-stars**

First off, let me say that I adore this cover! I love the beautifully dark vibe it gives off and then that little pop of color (full disclosure, red is my favorite color lol) makes is amazing.

As for the book itself, I liked the characters even though they made me want to punch them in the throat on several occasions. I loved the growth that Brielle made from her first interactions with Michael to when he came back. I was glad that she had Fallon in her corner. However, I felt like she was a little too easygoing at certain points (Michael clearly needed a few  slaps). That said, I liked that she was so mature for certain situations. It made me like her more. As for Michael, I actually enjoyed the second look at him. The first made me almost hate him, but he was still a sweetheart. and he was gorgeous, so there's that, lol.

I liked the flow of the action in this book. It kept me entertained and I felt like everything made sense. It was tame compared to other mafia related books I've read (violence was mentioned and hinted at, but outside of a couple of incidences, it wasn't as detailed as I expected). I also enjoyed the secondary characters, even though this is the first book I've read in the series. One thing left unresolved for me was Ivo. I don't want to reveal too much, but the extra phones was never really explained.

Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to others.

My Review:

**5-stars**

I wholeheartedly enjoyed this book! This was my first read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised.

Rosie/Angel was the perfect mix of sweetheart and badass. I loved that she was so outspoken and had no qualms about putting people in their place. I liked the dynamic between her and all the men in her life, especially her dad. Her one moment of stupidity was integral to the plot, but I hated it all the same. Declan/Wolf was also a great character. I hate that they were separated for so long, but it all made sense.

The things I really want to write about would give too much away and be considered spoilers, so I'll just say grab a copy of this book ASAP. You won't regret it.

I look forward to more from this author and would recommend it to others.

Random Release & Review . . . A Hunter Within by Anna Applegate

Presents

A Hunter Within
by Anna Applegate

Available on Kindle Unlimited

Series: The Alliance of Power; Book 1
Genre: Paranormal Romance

My name is Jules Parker, and I'm a Research Scientist. I landed an internship at Falcone Industries, the most prestigious pharmaceutical company in the country, though it's not what I'd hoped. After all, there's hardly a fine line between taking a volunteer and shackling someone down before injecting poison into their body. After secretly witnessing that horror, I'm in an uncomfortable situation.

Then, there's Seeley Ronan. Who is he, you might ask? Well, he's a Vampire King. And yes, I said vampire. He saved my life, and now we seem to be ... connected. He's sexy, dangerous, and a major distraction, who says Falcone is run by rogue hunters who are harming innocent vampires in a quest for power.

Seeley is desperate to protect his people, and needs my help to do it. But that means turning my back on the only path I've ever known. My heart and mind are in a tug-of-war and with my heart quickly becoming his, it's not likely I'll be able to deny him.

What I do know is that I'm in way over my head. As long as I can keep it together, we might be able to bring Falcone down from the inside. But, my world is about to change in a big way, and I'm not sure any of us will be ready for what comes next.

My Review:

**3-stars**

The premise for this book was pretty good. I liked that Jules was going for what she wanted in life and that she was so dedicated to her goals. I also liked that she had a very strong moral compass. I also liked Seeley's character - no surprise there, I like all hot male characters (even villains, lol).

Unfortunately, I didn't connect with the story. For me it became pretty predictable early on. Although I liked it, there was no surprising or whoa-factors for me and after a while it seemed to just drag on.

While this didn't work for me, I don't think it was a bad book and would still recommend it to those I think would enjoy it.
